Occupy Wall Street movement against financial inequality gains momentum

Posted: Jan 24, 2012 | edit

The majority of the Americans across the nation and the world united in the country's financial capital to show their anger against the prevailing global system based on poverty, oppression, and violence. The protest is still continuing as their concerns related to addressing the fundamental economic inequalities are still on the cards.

In order to narrow the gap between the rich and the poor, people come forward with a slogan "You are the 99 percent, we are the 99 percent." AS the American government always backed the rich people, rich become wealthy and poor become poorer. This destabilized the whole economic expansion and it throws light into the income inequality and the wealth inequality. According to Congressional Budget Office, America's top rich people, which will be above 1%, increased their income by more than 250% in the last thirty years, while middle income people's income grew by above 40%. Thus, 85% of the country's total wealth is owned by the rich people, while the middle class and the lower class own the rest 15%. In addition to that the financial inequality is more among people when compared to inequality in total wealth.

During the time of recession only people came to know more about the financial instability of the country. According to them the crisis they faced in the recent past was mainly due to government's inappropriate decisions to help the rich. What is a global economic recession? When a country's economic activity decline significantly for more than six months and affect its industrial production, employment, imports and exports, real estates and real income, then can say that country is facing an economic crisis. When these unfavorable causes of a country give a negative impact on other countries, then we will call it as global recession. The International Monetary Fund considers any global growth less than 3% as a global recession and some of the major reasons behind this can be a financial crisis, lower demands, tightening of monetary policy or fiscal policy contraction.
Among other reasons for the recession the financial crises is the most severe and the long lasting one, which has the power similar to a tsunami. That means, it will snatch everything belonging to us without any warning and the shocks associated with it will last for a long time. The recent recession we faced emerged from a financial crisis and its long and deep impact is still continuing.

The global financial crisis started to show its effects in the middle of 2007 and this continued to 2008. People saw the falling of world stock markets, collapsing of large financial institutions and the breaking of so many international banks. And the government of each country came up with rescue packages to bail out their financial systems. People know that the financial problems have been created by the bailed out institutions and each negative action of these institutions are affecting the livelihoods of almost everyone in this closely connected world. We know that the problem could have been avoided, if the top people supporting the current economic models were not that much influential and selfish. If they considered others viewpoints and concerns they may not have taken any wrong steps or at least they may have thought about the consequences coming after that. They didn't care about all these matters and the crisis arose and lasted for a long time by hindering the economic growth of a country by making people unemployed and increased their miseries.

The Occupy Wall Street agitation started in Manhattan's Financial District in last September and has spread to over 100 cities in the United States. The purpose of this people powered movement is to fight against the corruption and the negative policies of major banks and multinational corporations over the democratic process. As people believe that Wall Street has a strong role in the recent economic collapse, they started their protest from the roads of Wall Street. As news related to this protest is airing on all television channels connected with service from providers like Verizon FiOS Deals, we will get all information related to this agitation without any delay. The recent demonstration on this regard was near the Sundance Film Festival's Filmmaker Lodge. The protest was peaceful but the people involved were forceful in their message, "You are the 99 percent, we are the 99 percent."

Passive Income Streams: Creating A Life Free Of Stress and Financial Burden

ByDaniel Greenberger

Expert Author Daniel Greenberger

People were always told to take the safe route. You must get an education, then get a job, get married, and buy a home. The rules have changed so drastically from even ten years ago. These belief systems have been taught to the middle class for years. The main problem is we are polluting our children's minds. You can do anything you want. It's not just about getting a job anymore. In the last 3 years, there have been several thousands of people who have been laid off. There is no security there. You have to create your own security for yourself and your family. People have lost their homes because they did not have passive income streams. They have relied so heavily on insecure employment.

The current times are creating many internet millionaires and also huge numbers of real estate millionaires. Unfortunately, most people are blind to the opportunities to create passive income streams for themselves. The internet age even enables people to replace their income from their jobs. This can done even while you sleep. The power and convenience that the internet provides is incomprehensible. I actually have friends who do not even own a computer. I have other friends who are negative about it. I guess they do not deserve to benefit from its power. There are many ways to create wealth through real estate. You can own rental properties and receive monthly passive income checks. You may want to rehab properties and receive big checks of $30,000-100,000. The possibilities are endless. The internet will enable you to make large income streams from home in your spare time. You can leverage automation and make money while you sleep.

There are many ways to avoid going to an eight- to ten-hour job you loath everyday. These will prevent stressful financial situations. It's up to you to take control of your life. The schools we went to as children still do not teach any financial literacy. They may never change. It's ridiculous to think that they believe people know how to make money already. That was one defense I heard. The numbers show us this is not true. Three percent of Americans are wealthy. That leaves a huge percentage of the population that are not. Numbers do not lie. You must look at the three percent and see what they have done to create abundance for their families. Most wealthy people have a large percentage of real estate holdings. You must make sure you create passive income streams for your family. The schools are still in the dark ages, but you do not have to be!

Trading: Economical, Financial and Social Ethos of the Modern Day World

ByAngie Peterson

With the ever-changing economical, financial and social ethos of the modern day world that form an interwoven patchwork in our daily routines, we have become far more competitive than we had ever been in the past. As the history of mankind evolves, his needs, desires and social adaptability also alter in a unique way. We belong to the same category of "homo sapiens" that existed millions of years ago; however, today mankind is not merely concerned with fulfilling the basic needs of life. Living in the present day world demands a "lifestyle" and those who fail to live their dream life are pushed back into the darkness more intense than anyone in the medieval times could have imagined.

Survival is the basic instinct of every human being. However, in older days survival only meant to feed one's stomach and fight off wild beasts. However, in the modern world survival not only means food and shelter; it cycles around the sense of peace, financial stability and network of communications. There are millions of ways that today's man strives to achieve that "sense of security". For the much-needed financial wellbeing, people adopt different professions. However, Trading, which is as old as human race itself, is the most profitable and social way of survival today.

Trading came into being the day man put foot on this land. With the passage of time, the increase in population taught us to cater for their needs in a convenient way i.e. exchanging the items of interest. This is the earliest form of trading and dates back to the prehistoric time. Communities then bartered services and goods with one another before the invention of currency. Hence, people from all professions were directly or indirectly involved in trading. Folks from different geographic regions adopted various trading strategies for their benefits.

Each era in human history brought along changes to the trading system. The invention of money gave a new dimension to the trading system and people started trading goods for money. Today, we still observe similar patterns; however, our trading strategies are subject to a number of factors with the fluctuations in financial markets being the foremost. Just as man has evolved over time, the tips and techniques of trading have also seen much refinement over the years. Today, trading not only deals with the exchange of good or service for money; it involves a broader spectrum of financial activities geared towards realizing profits. Trading, as we know it today, is a process of achieving self-satisfaction by exchanging goods or money with another for one purpose: profit.

Seasoned traders have a plethora of knowledge coupled with trading experience. However,it is still vital for these experts to come together under one platform and share their wisdom simply because trading has become especially complex. With concepts such as "trade unions", "trade restrictions", "free trade" etc., it is important for the new traders to an eye out for all the innovations happening in the trading world. For this purpose, a large number of discussion forums have sprung up, providing the young traders with an opportunity for an interactive learning. If you are new to trading today, would you settle for a piece advice that's second to best? Perhaps not!

Trading a modern world to fulfill the needs in life. Visit Trade Point Forum at http://www.tradepointforum.com to discover the wonderful world of trading.
