Thank a Blogger this Christmas: Give the Gift of a Click

Posted: Dec 12, 2011 |Comments: 0 | edit

Christmas is a great time of the year because we develop fun ways to bring gifts to the people we like.  We add more to Santa's already impressive pile of goodies.  We surprise our better-halves.  We bring home baked desserts in to the office.  We even take extra steps to take care of customers.  It's fun.  As far as budgets allow, people try to say "thank you" to others.

This Christmas season, I would invite you to thank a group that you may even be a part of.  Thank the bloggers.  Thank the one-armed-band, small, and mid sized pajama publishers who bring you funny stories, educational videos, breathtaking images, and new perspectives.  How can you do this?  A great way to say "thanks" is by simply clicking on their ads.

Whether you are reading this article on the home page or on a syndication site, you can say thanks by simply clicking on their ads.  In fairness to the advertisers, take a moment to actually look at the ad.  Many of their ads are Pay Per Click.  In a substantial number of sites, the only way they are looking to pay for their operation is through their ads.  Your click says thanks for their great work.  It says that you hope they keep providing more.

The advertisers you visit may also be a mom-and-pop operation.  Just take a moment to look their ad over.  Don't give charity to the scam artists or those just throwing crap on the net.  Give a moment to the folks who put their own photos in with a story.  Take a second look at the ebook they are selling.  Perhaps even check out the deal that their advertiser is offering.  Many of us love the thought of seeing the "little guys" break out.  That can happen with Christmas clicks of thanks from people just like you.

Share their posts with others too.  You have at least a Facebook, Stumbleupon, Digg, or Twitter.  Take a moment to share the link with your friends.  Your thoughtfulness across a brief few seconds of your time will go a long way to keep growing an online world so many of us enjoy.

Merry Christmas.  We'll see you online.

Isn't it interesting how the established system of employment has rules in place to warn people against "risky" endeavors such as Direct Sales. A substantial number of big-name online companies even go so far as to restrict paid advertisements for Direct Sales recruiting efforts. They do this, they say, to protect people from "risky" endeavors and potential "scams". Search for the name of any Direct Sales organization you wish, along with the word "scam" and you will find dozens of warnings.
